Corsican "immortelle" essential oil from Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don subsp. italicum : towards a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) from the European Union

Michel Dubost is Chairman of the Corsican essential oil producers union APROHEC.

He is also past Executive Director of the international centre for Alpine Environments (1990-2012). After his retirement he managed the family farm in Corsica, developing essential oil production.
From 2022 onwards, together with a small group of essential producers, he developed a collective working group, for exchange of experience and structuring development projects for the whole Corsican essential oil production chain.
Together they created the "Association des Producteurs d'Huiles Essentielles de Corse" (APROHEC),  gathering and representing all essential oil producers in Corsica.
APROHEC's first and major common strategic project was to prepare an application with a view to obtain a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI/ IGP) for their flagship essential oil : Corsican everlasting essential oil (from Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don subsp. italicum).
