Wild High Altitude Lavender: A precious and privileged encounter

Christophe says...  “I was born and grew up in the North west of France, in a little village with a wild landscape and organic environment. My most favorite place to be has always been in Nature.

Then I became an Engineer and worked in a company that measured air pollution in France (1996-2008).
In 2006, I began my new life path, walking in the Algerian desert – a voyage of initiation and the beginning of important life changes for me for which I am deeply grateful.
I then undertook several trainings formations (apitherapy, organic agriculture…).
I studied organic agriculture, and medicinal plantes, phyto-aromatherapy and became an organic farmer in 2009.
My farm, Les Senteurs du Claut is located in the Mercantour mountains, north of Nice, France.
My work comprises the manual harvesting of wild plants, and cultivation of around 12 species on my farm. I then distil these medicinal plants for their essential oil and hydrolat.

For me it’s very important to take care of life all around the world. Plantes are increasingly weakened by global pollution and climate change. In these conditions, I need to consciously harvest with special care and attention.
In the wild and rare locations where I harvest, it is not possible to accompany me. Because these places have to be protected. I have to protect these places from photos, which could then end up being shared on the web and social media because I know that these pictures could have an negative impact on these protected places that are increasingly rare.
I feel like a guardian of these precious places, where there are wolves, eagles, pine, thyme, lavender and the silence of Nature.

Essential oils and hydrolats are the results of increasing global attention and quality actions between the seeds and the bottles is essential. This is my passion.
Life is really beautiful. We have to take care of life all over the world.”
